Las Vegas in Nevada is known all over the world as Sin City and the “Entertainment Capital of the World.”

Sure enough, Las Vegas is one of the few places where gambling is legal in the United States, and sure enough, casinos stand side-by-side along The Strip, luring passersby to flirt with Lady Luck at the tables at the slots machines.

Despite this image that Las Vegas has, the city is still a place that can be enjoyed by the entire family, even the small children.

Here are four places in Las Vegas that kids will definitely enjoy seeing.

1. Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

Just a short walking distance from Mandalay Bay’s casino is the Shark Reef Aquarium, where anyone can get in close proximity with a shark and even touch the tank where the sharks are in.

The Shark Reef is home to close to 1,200 species of marine life, which includes not just sharks but also manta rays, reptiles, fish and many other species. There are twelve species of sharks alone.

The Shark Reef is also the first public aquarium to put on display a Great Hammerhead Shark, a female that was caught by accident in Florida. She was put on display for a year before she died.

2. Las Vegas Spring Preserve

The Las Vegas Springs Preserve is a nature preservation area that focuses on the desert habitat. The Springs Preserve stands on the site of a natural oasis; it is made up of around 180 acres of botanical gardens and nature trails, as well as indoor museums and interactive displays.

Its major displays include the ORIGEN Experience, consisting of interactive displays on the geological history of the Las Vegas Valley, as well as the Desert Living Center, a school where researches and studies on desert living are conducted.

The Springs Preserve also has an indoor amphitheater surrounded by gardens.

3. Circus Circus Adventuredome

Most children enjoy the circus and there is no reason for them not to love the Circus Circus Adventuredome.

The indoor theme park owned by the Circus Circus Hotel boasts of 25 carnival rides and attractions, including a roller coaster and a rock climbing wall. There is also a video game arcade and a virtual reality zone, a miniature golf course with 18 holes, clown shows and other carnival acts.

The Adventuredome can be accessed from the Circus Circus Hotel itself and is connected to it by a walkway.

4. Discovery Children’s Museum

The Discovery Children’s Museum is an interactive museum where the children are invited and encourage to touch the exhibits and to explore with their hands.

The Lied Discovery Children’s Museum features around 100 interactive exhibits on the history of Las Vegas and the State of Nevada, as well as displays on desert life and the desert habitat. It is an experience that can be shared by both children and their parents.

5. Viva Vision Light Show

You can’t visit Las Vegas without seeing the Viva Vision light shows at Fremont Street Experience. Here you can see incredible light shows with high-resolution imagery and state-of-the-art, 600,000-watt, concert-quality sound.

You can watch the light show every night from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Fremont Street where the light show is held is also fantastic family fun nighttime destination as there are also free nightly concerts.

Las Vegas isn’t a city you wouldn’t usually put on a list of best USA destinations for kids, but Vegas isn’t all about casinos, gambling and adult entertainment. As a family with children you can still have a fantastic fun time in Las Vegas even if you do not step foot into a casino.
