New York City donuts

Homer’s fave, and ours as well – New York City is basically the home of the doughnut. Glazed, filled, iced, cream covered…there’s a flavour out there for everyone!

Whether you’re after a classic cronut or something a bit special, no visit to the Big Apple should be without a visit to one of these top notch dough spots.

1. Donut Pub

• 203 W 14th St, NY 10011

Doughnuts for breakfast? Only in New York City – this spot’s open 24/7! Tuck into a Maple Bacon delight at Donut Pub, or for the more traditional, enjoy a classic Glazed or Salted Caramel. Donut Pub is also completely peanut and tree nut free – so our nut allergy mates can get in on the dough!

2. The Doughnut Project

• 10 Morton St, NY 10014

Well, they DO proclaim that they’re the best in their window display! Thankfully, the Doughnut Project lives up to the self-proclaimed heights, offering sweet-savoury doughnuts ranging from the classic (Pb&J) and the classy (Chandon Rose) to the more innovative (Bone Marrow Chocolate, anyone??)

3. Supermoon Bakehouse

• 120 Rivington St, NY 10002

Okay, so the magical pastries that line the marbled counter might draw your eye at first – but Supermoon Bakery are responsible for some hella good doughy orbs, with inventive flavours such as Lavender & Honey, and Blueberry & Caramel Pie. The aesthetic? So Instagram it hurts.

4. Dun-Well Doughnuts

• Manhattan: 102 St Marks Pl, NY 10009
• Brooklyn: 222 Montrose Ave, NY 11206

Dun-Well are all about artisan, handcrafted doughnuts – and vegans can rejoice, as every ring is completely free of animal products! Flavours on offer change daily, but a few favourites include Toasted Coconut and Matcha Raspberry Pie.

5. Du’s Doughnuts

• 107 N 12th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249

Perfectly placed in super-cool Williamsburg, these cakey delights will give you a real sugar fix. Flavours include brown butter key lime and blueberry crumble. Us grown ups can also enjoy a beer or wine from the bar here too…

6. Doughnuttery

• Chelsea Market: 425 West 15th Street, NY 10011
• Hell’s Kitchen: 1000 8th Ave, NY 10019

Eaten too much pizza and you’ve run out of room for dessert? Yup, we’ve all been there. Doughnuttery’s bite-sized mini doughnuts are the perfect nibble for smaller appetites. Having a sweet tooth moment? Mix and match your miniatures with around 20 quirkily named flavours on offer, including the Coco Mint Paddy, Purple Pig and Spicy Rooster.

7. Dough

Brooklyn: 448 Lafayette Ave, NY 11205
More of a ‘go big or go home’ kinda eater? Dough’s offerings are bigger than your average doughnut, topped with gloriously cheek-smudging sticky icing.
